Dr. Kiara Hennessey graduated from the UBC Urology Residency Program in 2011. She has a special interest in advanced laparoscopic urologic surgery. Dr. Hennessey’s scope of practice includes general Urology with expertise in minimally invasive management of kidney cancer, prostate cancer, urinary tract obstruction and stone surgery.
Dr. Hennessey’s fellowship training in the subspecialty area of minimally invasive/endourologic surgery was at McMaster University, a recognized leader in the development of laparoscopic surgery in Canada. In particular, she obtained expertise in percutaneous nephrolithotomy, laparoscopic partial nephrectomy, laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, laparoscopic adrenalectomy, laparoscopic pyeloplasty and laparoscopic radio-frequency ablation of renal masses.
